"106th Anniversary" Sweepstakes
Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. The Bassett "106th Anniversary" Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") begins at 12:00 am (ET) on September 4, 2008 and ends at 11:59 pm (ET) on December 18, 2008 (the "Promotion Period").
ELIGIBILITY: To enter the Sweepstakes, you must be a legal resident of the Contiguous US and 18 years of age or older at the time of entry with a unique valid Social Security number.
Employees and their immediate family members (parents, children, siblings or spouse, regardless of where they live, or persons living in same household, whether related or not) of Sponsor, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, distributors, sales representatives, retailers, advertising and promotion agencies, and any others engaged in the development, production, execution or distribution of this promotion are not eligible to participate. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
HOW TO ENTER: Visit www.bassettfurniture.com during the Promotion Period and follow the link to the Sweepstakes Registration Page. Complete and submit the Official Online Entry Form, in its entirety, including your full name, physical address, city, state, zip, phone, e-mail address, and create and submit your custom sofa(creating a custom sofa is optional and not required in order to obtain an entry into the Sweepstakes). In order for an online entry to be valid, entrant must have a valid e-mail address and must click the "submit" button. All online entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm ET on December 18, 2008. Limit one (1) entry per person/e-mail address per day for online entries. Neither Sponsor nor any Sweepstakes Entity is responsible for any online entry that is lost, late, misdirected or undeliverable, whether due to system errors, omissions, interruption, deletions, defects, delay in operations or transmissions, theft or destruction or failures, faulty transmissions or other telecommunications malfunctions, entries not received resulting from any hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete or garbled computer or telephone transmissions, typographical or system errors and failures, faulty transmissions, technical malfunctions, or otherwise.
The total maximum number of online entries allowed during the Sweepstakes Period per person/e-mail address is one hundred and six (106) entries.
In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses, or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
DRAWINGS: Each day during the Promotion Period, independent judges will select a daily prize winner, in a random drawing, from among all eligible entries received for that day. Each day will run from 12:00 am ET to 11:59:59 pm ET (the "Drawing Period") and all entries must be submitted during this time in order to be included for that day’s drawing. All non-winning eligible entries from the previous drawing will NOT carry over to subsequent Drawing Periods. Judges decisions are final. Odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible entries received for each day.
GRAND PRIZE: One Hundred and Six (106) Grand Prizes of a custom sofa will be awarded. Custom sofa must be stationary and includes delivery to winner’s residence. Custom sofa excludes motion, sectional and leather options. The approximate retail value (the "ARV") for the Grand Prize is $3,000. Grand Prize winner will be able to customize their sofa; however, the amount that will be awarded towards the retail purchase price of the sofa will be no more than $3,000. In the event that the actual value of the sofa is less than the retail value the cash difference will not be awarded to the winner. Grand Prize winner must choose their custom sofa within thirty (30) days of acceptance date of the Grand Prize. If the custom sofa is not chosen prior to the thirty (30) days of the acceptance date the prize will be forfeited. The Grand Prize winner is required to comply with any and all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Any taxes imposed on the income of the Grand Prize winner as a result of winning the Grand Prize and all other expenses not specifically mentioned herein as part of the Grand Prize are solely the responsibility of the Grand Prize winner. No transfer or substitution of prize is allowed except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. There is no cash alternative offered, except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. The value of the Prize is taxable as income and Winner is solely responsible for all matters relating to the Prize, including, but not limited to all applicable federal, state and local taxes that become due with respect to the Prize. Limit of one prize per person/household for the entire Promotion Period.
Total ARV of all Prizes to be awarded is $318,000.
PRIZE WINNERS: Except where prohibited, the potential prize winner will be notified via phone and/or email. Prize winner will be sent a confirming letter, an affidavit of eligibility/liability/publicity release, and W-9 form via email within ten (10) business days of winning. In order to be declared a winner, the potential prizewinner must sign and return the affidavit of eligibility/liability/publicity release within ten (10) business days of receipt of confirming letter. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within ten (10) days of the first attempt to contact him/her or if he/she fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, where applicable, or if he/she fails to sign and return the affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within the required time period, an alternate entrant will be selected in his/her place at random from among all eligible entries received.
Potential Prize winner consents to use of his/her name, likeness, biographical information, and voice in advertising worldwide without additional compensation (TN residents will not be required to sign a Release as a condition of winning a prize). If potential Prize winner is a minor in his/her state of residence, prize will be awarded to the parent or legal guardian who must execute all required prize claim documents.
Grand Prize winner must choose their custom sofa within thirty (30) days of acceptance date of the Grand Prize. If the custom sofa is not chosen prior to the thirty (30) days of the acceptance date the prize will be forfeited.
GENERAL RULES OF PARTICIPATION: This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. By participating, entrants and their participating entities agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and the Independent Sweepstakes Administrator and waive any right to challenge the decision of the Independent Sweepstakes Administrator regarding any claim of ambiguity in the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules, whose decision shall be binding. Sweepstakes Entities are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, undeliverable or incomplete entries, whether due to system errors or failures, faulty transmissions or other telecommunications malfunctions, entries not received resulting from any hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete or garbled computer or telephone transmissions, typographical or system errors and failures, faulty transmissions, technical malfunctions, or otherwise. Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices (including the use of automated quick entry programs) or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants, Sponsor, or Sweepstakes Entities. If for any reason this Sweepstakes is not able to be conducted as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the promotion, then Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes and randomly draw from those entries received up to the cancellation/suspension date. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
NO LIABILITY: By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sweepstakes Entities and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from and against any claims made by winners, entrants, or any other third parties, related in any way to the operation of this Sweepstakes as well as any other claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity or participation in this Sweepstakes.

INDEPENDENT SWEEPSTAKES ADMINISTRATOR: This promotion is being administered by The National Sweepstakes Company, 693 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14607, which is responsible for overseeing the selection of winners and the awarding of all prizes. Its decisions are final and binding regarding the conduct of this promotion.
