Care & Assembly

Product Care

How do I clean my furniture?
To clean, mix a mild dishwashing liquid/water solution. Wipe surface with a soft cloth dampened lightly with this solution. After cleaning, rinse and immediately dry all surfaces thoroughly with a soft dry cloth. No abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, steel wool, or coarse rags should be used in cleaning.

What precautions should I take with new wood furniture?
Do not expose wooden furniture to strong sunlight and moisture. Long exposure to sunlight may cause changes to the wood and thus affect the color of the finish. Moisture may damage the wood and its finish. Wipe up spills immediately. Do not position humidifiers and vaporizers near your furniture. Prolonged heat can dry wood and cause it to crack and split. Make sure furniture is positioned at least six inches from heating vents and radiators.

Crib Replacement Parts

Bassett can provide replacement parts for many of its products. However, Bassett recommends that all cribs manufactured prior to 2011 be replaced because improved safety features were instituted that year. For information on our current product, please contact us at 1.800.308.7485.

Most of Bassett’s drawer pulls and decorative hardware are custom made. Contact Bassett Customer Service at 1.800.308.7485 or by email at and we will attempt to provide a replacement for you.

For the first year of the warranty period, Bassett will pay or incur reasonable and customary labor charges for the repair or installation of covered replacement parts. After the first year of the warranty period, the purchaser is responsible for the cost of repair or installation of covered replacement parts.

For wood products, please identify the model number prior to calling us. The model number for our wood products is affixed to the back of the cases and on the headboard of the cribs. Please use these model numbers and manufacture date code to identify your products whenever you are communicating with either Bassett or our retailers.
