It is the policy of Bassett to maintain a working environment free from harassment and intimidation of any kind, including harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, transgender status, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, or any other basis prohibited by applicable federal, state or local law. Bassett will take the necessary steps to achieve this type of environment for its associates.

Prohibited harassment can take the form of words (either in verbal or electronic form, such as text messages, instant messages or social media messages), actions, or both. Examples of harassment include: (1) epithets, slurs, negative stereotyping, and threatening, intimidating, bullying or hostile acts; (2) written or graphic material (for example, pictures, cartoons, emoji’s or GIFs) possessed, posted, or circulated in the workplace or to co-workers outside of the workplace; and/or (3) unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual or improper nature. No one should imply or threaten that an associate or applicant’s “cooperation” with unwelcome harassment (or refusal thereof) will have any effect on an individual’s employment, assignment, compensation, advancement, career development, or any condition or term of employment.

All such conduct and/or statements, whether sexual in nature, based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, or other prohibited basis, and whether committed by management, non-management personnel, vendors, customers or clients, are strictly prohibited.

Associates of Bassett who violate this policy will be subject to punitive or disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or relationship with Bassett. Bassett does not tolerate any kind of unacceptable behavior in any form. This policy applies to all associates of Bassett, as well as to vendors, customers and clients who deal with associates of Bassett.

Training

It’s people who bring the Bassett Brand to life.

To ensure the quality of each customer’s experience, we invest time and resources into training new associates to accomplish this mission with competence and confidence. Our training programs are also designed to help each associate create a meaningful career at Bassett.

As a new associate with Bassett, you’ll receive training that includes comprehensive on-line classes, hands-on activities, and coaching appropriate to your position and experience. We provide the opportunity for you to learn and grow during your onboarding as well as throughout your career with Bassett. We value and leverage the talent of our organization to get smarter and grow stronger together.
