Clearance Furniture

No, clearance furniture cannot be returned or canceled, because all clearance items are final sale. Quantities are limited, and Bassett does not make price adjustments on prior sales. This is the main way furniture on clearance differs from non-custom items at regular or sale prices, which can be canceled before delivery with a 15% restocking fee. Because clearance furniture is a final sale, it is worth confirming the dimensions, finish, and details before you order. Some states have different rules, so check with your local Bassett store.

No, clearance furniture is not lower quality than regular Bassett furniture. Furniture is placed on clearance because a style, finish, or configuration is being discontinued or because stock is limited, not because the piece is defective or made to a lower standard. Clearance pieces are built to the same standards as the rest of the line, so the difference is availability and price rather than construction. You get the same materials and craftsmanship at a reduced, final-sale price.

Sales and clearance are both discounted, but they work differently. Sale pricing is a promotional discount on current products that remain part of the line, and non-custom sale items follow the standard return policy, which allows cancellation before delivery with a 15% restocking fee. Furniture on clearance is discontinued, or limited-quantity stock offered at a lower, final-sale price, so clearance items cannot be returned or canceled, and quantities are limited. In short, sale is a temporary price on continuing products, while clearance is the last chance to buy pieces that are being phased out.

Clearance furniture is existing inventory, so it is generally on hand rather than made to order, which means it can ship faster than a custom piece that has to be built. Because furniture on clearance is limited-quantity stock, availability changes as items sell and quantities are not replenished. The pieces shown on the clearance page are the ones currently available. To confirm that a specific clearance item is in stock and ready to ship to your area, check the product page or your local Bassett store.
