Outdoor Sofas

The best material for an outdoor sofa depends on your climate, but performance resin wicker and aluminum are top choices for durability and low upkeep across Bassett's outdoor collections. Bassett's outdoor sofas use high-density resin wicker with UV protection so it resists fading and cracking, often over a rust-resistant aluminum frame, topped with solution-dyed acrylic cushions that hold up to sun and moisture.

Wicker sofas made from performance resin wicker are highly water-resistant, rather than fully waterproof. The high-density polyethylene weave will not absorb water, warp, or rot in rain the way natural wicker can, so the frame handles wet weather well. The cushions are a different story: their acrylic fabric resists moisture but should be dried out or stored after heavy rain to prevent mildew.

Yes. Many Bassett outdoor sofas can be customized with a choice of frame or wicker finishes and a broad range of performance fabrics for the cushions, and some collections let you pick arm styles and cushion comfort. That lets you match a sofa or a coordinating outdoor sectional to your patio's palette and your preferred lounging style, rather than settling for a single fixed configuration.

An outdoor sofa's resin wicker and aluminum frame can generally stay outside in winter, since both resist cold, moisture, and UV. The cushions are more vulnerable, so it is best to bring them indoors or use weatherproof covers during the off-season. In regions with heavy snow or ice, covering the whole sofa or moving it under shelter helps it last longer.

To clean outdoor sofa cushions, brush off loose debris, then wash the solution-dyed acrylic fabric with mild soap and water, rinsing thoroughly and letting them air dry fully before reuse. This fabric resists stains and mildew and, on many Bassett cushions, tolerates a diluted bleach solution for tougher spots. Removing covers where possible makes cleaning and drying easier.
