An Ode to Tradition

Some projects don’t just reflect what we do, they expand it.
Bassett Furniture’s commercial work with the renowned Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC is a natural extension of our presence in the hospitality furniture manufacturing and commercial interior design space, where custom furniture craftsmanship meets scale and every detail is designed to be experienced by many. A golf course and club of Quail Hollow’s stature requires a setting that calls for durability, contract-grade furniture construction, intentional design, and a refined sense of comfort tailored for luxury hospitality environments.
Rooted in Virginia, our proximity to North Carolina reflects more than geography. It speaks to a shared cultural foundation. Both our company and Quail Hollow Club are grounded in Southern traditions of hospitality, where spaces are designed to inspire, gather, and endure. From its inception, Quail Hollow was envisioned as an elegant extension of the home, a “great big living room,” that welcomes members and guests with ease. That philosophy mirrors our own approach to residential-inspired commercial furniture design, where furniture should create a sense of comfort, belonging, and elevated everyday living.
At the core of this project is our production process. It’s one that remains deeply human. Each piece begins in the hands of artisans whose expertise has been shaped over years of repetition and refinement in American furniture manufacturing. Surfaces are hand-sanded, custom furniture finishes are carefully sprayed, frames are assembled with precision, and every element is passed from one craftsperson to the next with care. There’s an understanding at each stage that the work is part of something larger, furniture designed for high-traffic commercial spaces that will live beyond the walls of a single space.
For Quail Hollow, that process was thoughtfully adapted to meet the needs of a high-use, hospitality-driven environment. Materials, finishes, and construction methods were refined to ensure long-lasting performance furniture without compromising the character of the design. It’s a balance we know well, creating contract furniture solutions that perform beautifully while maintaining the integrity and warmth that define comfort.
The design direction was equally considered. Each piece was developed to exist seamlessly within the established interiors, with custom furniture design services and finishes carefully color-matched to surrounding architectural elements. This level of personalization allows the furniture to feel inherent to the space, not introduced, an approach central to bespoke hospitality furniture programs and interior specification furniture design.
This project is a reflection of that alignment. A meeting point between heritage and application, where tradition informs every detail and craftsmanship carries the experience forward. It’s also a continued expression of Bassett Furniture’s work within the commercial furniture and hospitality design industry, designing environments that feel considered, cohesive, and enduring. As we look ahead, our focus remains steady: to lead in custom contract furniture manufacturing, honor our roots, and evolve with the spaces we help shape. To create furniture that not only meets the moment, but lives well beyond it, delivering a lasting sense of place built on tradition.
