Post-summer is also the time to be sure you have a fire table or firepit to center your gathering as well as provide ambient heat. And if your outdoor living space is entirely exposed, it’s a good idea to protect your furniture from inclement weather, even in the summer. Be sure to measure your outdoor space to ensure the size and scale of your pieces fit, with plenty of room for you and your guests to move around. A high-quality outdoor furniture cover is recommended if you plan to leave your furniture outdoors all year. Before placing covers on your furniture, clean with mild soap and water as instructed above, and allow to completely dry. Trapped dirt and moisture can cause mold and mildew to form. If you choose to move your furniture indoors, make sure it is clean, dry, and stored in a dry environment.

Trivets, coasters, and placemats are recommended for hot items and drinks. Do not let water, rain or other liquids remain on the surface for prolonged periods. Wipe up spills immediately with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid placing sharp or heavy objects on the surface. Wash periodically with a clean, damp cloth. If needed, use a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid. Dust, vacuum with a brush attachment, or use a soft bristled brush to remove debris from the natural crevices. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning materials. The surface may be re-sealed annually with Filastone Plus Eco sealer.

Prepare a solution of one fourth cup mild soap per gallon of lukewarm water. Use a soft bristle brush to clean, allowing the cleaning solution to soak into the fabric. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue and allow fabric to air dry.
